Why You are Emotionally Stunted - Episode 11
Episode 11: Why You Are Emotionally Stunted
In this episode, I explore how emotional suppression—especially in high-demand systems like Mormonism and American culture—leaves many of us emotionally stunted, disconnected from ourselves, and stuck in cycles we don’t understand.
We revisit the Self-Coaching Model (CTFAR) and focus on the often-overlooked middle step: feelings. You’ll learn why feelings matter, how they drive everything we do (or don’t do), and what goes wrong when we resist, react to, avoid, or spiritualize our emotions.
This is part one of a two-part series that will help you build emotional literacy, reclaim emotional agency, and get back in the driver’s seat of your own life.
What We Cover: Why feelings—not circumstances—create your experience
How American culture and Mormonism both discourage emotional honesty

While this isn’t art therapy, and I’m not a licensed therapist, these creative exercises have been powerful tools for healing in my own life and in the lives of women I work with.
